Biography
Wendy is a professor of Sociology in the School of Arts and Sciences Humanities and Social Sciences at St. George’s University. As a Research Sociologist, Dr. Crawford works include persons with disabilities, disaster preparedness planning, quality of life for older adults, juvenile justice reform program, poverty and other social issues.
Wendy completed a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a master’s degree in social policy and administration at UWI Mona, Jamaica. She received a Fellowship from the National Institute of Health and the National Institute of Aging in the USA to pursue a Ph.D. in Social Gerontology and Medical Sociology at Temple University in Philadelphia.
Dr. Crawford-Daniel devotes a great deal of her time to community service, hold membership in a number of community organizations and serves on the Board of Directors for the Hilarion Home for the Aged and chairs the Board of Directors of the Grenada Save the Children Fund (GRENSAVE).
She authored two socio-cultural books, ‘Unveiling Island Passion’ and “Son Rising” Dr. Crawford-Daniel’s passion for service and social justice comes through her teaching and work in the community.
