    4-year MD plus 3 years preclinical. For students who have secondary school credentials.

    Years 1-3: Preclinical coursework in Grenada
    Year 4-5: Basic Science coursework in Grenada
    Years 6-7: Clinical training in affiliated hospitals in the US or UK

    The Seven-Year MD Track (MD Track 7) at St. George’s University is suitable for students who have completed their high school education and performed well in science subjects. With a focus on preclinical sciences, social sciences, and humanities, the seven-year MD track entry point prepares students for the rigors of medical school by providing a strong support system around a solid preclinical curriculum.

    Dual BS/MD Degree Option

    By entering SGU’s MD Track 7, you may be eligible to earn a Bachelor of Science (BSc) on your way to completing your Doctor of Medicine.

    The BS/MD option allows you to complete your undergraduate degree through three years of undergraduate and preclinical courses.

    Admission Requirements*

    • Secondary School and American High School Diploma
    • General Education Diploma (GED): Minimum score of 175 in math, science, social studies, and humanities.
    • IGCSE: Minimum grade B in 6 or more subjects, including biology, chemistry, math, physics, and English.
    • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education

    Please note, as an international student:

    • Taking the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) is not required to apply.
    • You are exempt from the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT).

    *Entry qualifications are available for many countries and examination boards. Please work with your admissions officer to determine what entry qualifications and examination boards are needed from your home country.     English Language Requirements

    An English exam is required for any prospective student whose country is not considered English-speaking per UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) guidance.* However, an exception may be granted to students with an undergraduate degree from any English-speaking country—a waiver must be requested from SGU in this instance.

    • IELTS: 7.0 overall and 7.0 on each band required for direct entry
    • TOEFL: 94-101 overall is required for direct entry
      (24-26 reading / 24-26 listening / 23 speaking / 27-28 writing)
    • Password skills: Scoring is the same as IELTS scoring for direct entry
    • C1 Advanced (CAE): 185 overall and 185 in each band required for direct entry
    • PTE Academic: A score of 66.3 overall is required for direct entry
      (67.6 reading / 66.2 listening / 65.3 speaking / 82.3 writing)
    • Duolingo English Test (DET): 130 overall and 130 on each band required for direct entry
    • Kaplan Test of English (KTE): 510 overall and 510 on each band required for direct entry

    SGU is truly an international institution, not only with its diverse student body and faculty but the unique opportunity for students to begin their medical education in Grenada or the UK. The two paths feature the same curriculum and provide a strong foundation for SGU’s future physicians. Students have the option of doing clinical rotations either in the US or the UK in the last two years.
