    A preveterinary program aimed at enhancing academic performance and preparing students for entry into the traditional 4-year DVM program.

    The six-year preveterinary entry point into our Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree program begins with intensive preveterinary coursework including organic chemistry and physics to prepare before entering the traditional, four-year Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree program.

    This program is designed for students who want to prepare for a career in veterinary medicine and who have completed some undergraduate-level coursework or who have passed a matriculation examination with high marks in science.

    Program Entry Qualifications

    • A matriculation examination, such as the South African or Australian examination (or its equivalent), with strong science grades.
      Or
    • Minimum of 30 university/college undergraduate-level credits that include some science foundation courses.

    The remaining weeks of the clinical program are made up of elective rotations (clinical rotations) and externships approved by the affiliated schools.
