Trinity Square Accommodation
Students attending St. George’s University (SGU) School of Medicine and studying at Northumbria University are strongly encouraged to live in Trinity Square. Trinity Square is a 20-minute walk, or short bus or Metro ride to Northumbria University’s city campus. The accommodation places you in the center of Gateshead, across the famous River Tyne from Newcastle town center.
SGU students share a self-contained apartment accommodating five people, and most rooms have en-suite facilities. The average size of a standard room is 13 square meters, all equipped with double beds measuring 135x190cm. The housing fee includes high-speed 100 Mbps broadband internet, utility bills, and basic contents insurance. Students need to provide cooking equipment, including utensils, crockery, cutlery, and bedding.
SGU students are housed together in specific blocks, ensuring you are rooming with peers in your SGU cohort and surrounded by your SGU mentors. Living near your peers assists in the creation of study groups, cohort bonding, and peer to peer support and care. Trinity Square is the only Northumbria University accommodation option that provides 24/7 security and a staffed reception, which ensures your safety and support during your first few years in the UK. The accommodation contract dates match academic course dates, avoiding long contracts and unnecessary fees. Dates can be extended upon request to Northumbria University.
As Trinity Square is managed by Northumbria University, students will receive their accommodation offer through their NU student portal. Students are also required to sign an SGU billing agreement.

Your insurance provider for Trinity Square is Endsleigh Insurance. Please refer to the Certificate of Insurance to see what is covered. Please note, your personal possessions are covered while you are staying in university accommodation, but any items lost or stolen outside of the accommodation will not be covered.
