We can’t wait to welcome you to our program and school. In the coming weeks, you’ll be hearing from us a lot. We have all kinds of information to share, from orientation schedules to college assignments, and we want to make sure your transition to medical school is as smooth as possible.

This website is filled with information regarding admissions, travel, social media links and much more. Students living on campus may arrive during the specified time period, prior to mandatory orientation, as outlined in your acceptance letter. COMPLETE YOUR REQUIRED ADMISSION FORMS

Any student attending St. George’s University must complete the required admission forms prior to starting. These forms are the University Honor Code and the Entering Students Questionnaire. Links to both forms can be found below.

A copy of your passport details page is required to be sent to SGU prior to your departure. Please scan or take a photo of the details page (containing your photo and your passport information) and email it to your admissions coordinator or to admission@sgu.edu. All incoming students will be issued an official University student ID badge. Student ID badges are required to complete the registration process and then to access campus buildings, orientation activities, classes, and University transportation. APPLY FOR DISABILITY ACCOMMODATIONS


Students seeking accommodations for disabilities are required to contact Student Accessibility and Accommodation Services (SAAS) located in the Dean of Students Office (DOS). We highly recommend applying for accommodations as early as possible. Requests should be submitted via email to the SAAS Office at dosaa@sgu.edu. SET UP YOUR SGU EMAIL ACCOUNT

Email addresses are created within 48 business hours of a deposit being received. SGU will use your alternate email address to notify you that your account has been created and provide instructions on how to access your new SGU email address through the student portal, Carenage. Additional information regarding your SGU email can be found at the link below.

COMPLETE YOUR HOUSING APPLICATION

All incoming students must fill out a housing application whether they plan to live on- or off-campus. To log into the housing portal, use the same credentials you use to access Carenage and Student Self Service. If the portal is at maximum capacity when you attempt to log in, you may be prompted to try back at a later time. COMPLETE YOUR MANDATORY HEALTH FORMS

Within two weeks of submitting your deposit, the mandatory health forms will be emailed to your SGU student email account only. If you have not received your health forms from Susan Conway within two weeks of submitting your deposit, please email sconway@sgu.edu. Please include your full name, ID number, and program. SOM health forms are to be completed, scanned, and emailed to termonehealthforms@sgu.edu. Still have questions about your health forms? Visit the link below to get additional information.

FINANCIAL AID 

If you are seeking financial aid, please make sure that you contact your financial aid counselor for more information on how to complete your loan process.  If you are not receiving aid, please make sure to tell your financial aid counselor you will not need funding.

HEALTH INSURANCE

It  is SGU policy that all students maintain adequate health insurance and must confirm existing coverage. All students must either elect into or waive out of the plan. For information on how to elect into or waive out of the student health insurance plan, please see the Student Health Insurance Information section of CARENAGE. 2 WEEKS PRIOR TO ARRIVAL

COMPLETE THE ELECTRONICS CUSTOMS FORM

St. George’s University will pay the customs fees for electronic devices being brought to Grenada by students coming to the island for the first time. SGU will pay for up to three electronic devices such as computer/laptop, iPad/iPad mini, and smart phone (other types of devices, including cameras are not covered). Note that only one type of device per student, and up to three devices, will be allowed. Please complete this form prior to traveling to Grenada in order to be eligible and only when you are sure about the devices you are bringing with you. The customs form can be found at the link provided below. Please print a copy of the electronics customs form for your records and keep it with your travel documents.

PREPARE FOR ARRIVAL TO GRENADA

As part of welcoming all new students, we’ve organized an extensive orientation program including a formal reception on campus and transportation to the campus from the airport.
