Dr Yasmin Allison-Burnett is an Associate Professor at St Georges University School of Medicine in the Department of Clinical Skills. She is an experienced academic, with interest in academic and clinical research. Her primary teaching and research activities are:

  • Introducing students to Clinical Skills using simulation methods, including standardised patients and simulation mannequins.
  • Developing students’ analytical skills and clinical reasoning using standardised patient interviews.
  • Classroom teaching.

Research interests are:

  • How does the use of clinical scenarios and standardised patients improve students’ confidence in performing clinical skills.
  • The use of community outreach clinics to sensitise students to physician’s community service and improve their clinical analytic skills.
  • Does the sequencing of simulation scenarios and patient contact make a difference in student learning.
