Antia Escribano Carrera, DVM, MSc, MRCVS

Dr. Escribano Carrera is an instructor in St. George’s University’s Small Animal Clinic, specializing in small animal surgery. She came to SGU in 2019 after more than seven years as a general practitioner in Spain and the United Kingdom.

She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain) in 2010, and her certificate in advanced medical practice from the UK’s Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) in 2016. She went on to obtain a Master of Science from the University of Liverpool in 2019. Clinically, she completed a general rotating internship with Southfield Veterinary Specialists (formerly VRCC) and a surgical internship at University College Dublin in Ireland.

Dr. Escribano Carrera is passionate about research, having published two case reports in peer-reviewed journals and presented posters at veterinary conferences in the US and UK. She is also involved in two multi-institutional research studies about postattenuation neurologic signs in dogs.
