Assistant Professor
Dr. Ashiq Hussain Bhat is working as Assistant Professor at Small Animal Clinic, School of Veterinary Medicine, St. George’s University. He has worked as Assistant Professor at Teaching Veterinary Clinical Complex, KCVAS, Amritsar, India from 2013 to 2017 where he used to teach veterinary students and treat both small and large animals. Feeling passionate for small animal practice, he contributed his great service at Doha Qatar, from 2017 to 2022, where he got exposed to exotic animal practice as well.
He is enthusiastic for small animal internal medicine and enjoys performing soft tissue surgeries. He is passionate for teaching students and is devoted to consult exotic animals at Small Animal Clinic.
Dr. Bhat is interested in research work as well and has more than 5 full research papers and many more popular articles and case reports in his name. During his masters his thesis was on “Studies on total antioxidant status, nitric-oxide and biochemical profiles in cyclic and acyclic goat’’.
He is a life member of Indian Society for Advancement of Canine Practice (ISACP) and Indian Society for Study of Animal Reproduction (ISSAR). He is a member of Scientific Advisory Board in International Journal of Livestock Research (IJLR).
Dr Bhat did his B.V.Sc and A.H at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Kashmir, India and M.V.Sc at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Jammu, India.
Being a sport loving person, Dr. Bhat has won many sports awards at school, college and university level in Cricket, Volleyball, and Football. Sipping coffee and reading novels is his hobby.
