Professional Expertise, Interests and Research Areas

My research area is focus on general Clinical Microbiology and Veterinary Bacteriology research with over thirty publications in referred journals. I have completed several presentations and currently part of ongoing research projects in SVM. I have conducted numerous research for zoonotic bacteria and emerging bacterial pathogens from domestic  and wildlife animal and, humans. I am also versatile in diagnosis of viral pathogens using molecular techniques. My research area is in the diagnosis of zoonotic infectious disease using molecular techniques for microorganisms.

Personal Background and Interests

I am currently pursuing my PhD in Virology; my research is focus on severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS-CoV-2) belonging to the genera Coronavirus. I was part of the SGU/WINDREF Testing team for SARS-CoV-2 (COVID 19).  I am skill in various molecular techniques including DNA and RNA extraction from multiple starting materials, determining DNA concentration using NANODROP spectrophotometer, PCR, gel electrophoresis, PCR product purification and Fluorescent Antibody testing (dFA test).
