Dr. Mahesh Shriram Deokar received his BVSc & AH (DVM) degree in 2001 and Master’s in veterinary Anatomy, MVSc, in 2004 from Bombay Veterinary College, Mumbai, India. Dr. Deokar is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Anatomy from St. Georges University, School of Graduate Studies.

Since 2005, Dr. Deokar is a full-time faculty member of School of Veterinary Medicine and now serving as Associate Professor of Anatomy. Earlier, he worked with Vista Processed Foods Pvt. Ltd. as a Quality Assurance Officer for poultry health and poultry processing for one and a half year.

Dr. Deokar started his research as a master’s student and performed Gross anatomical, histological and histochemical studies. His Master’s research is on “Prenatal development of the female reproductive organs of the sheep.” He is currently working on the reproductive biology of the mongoose with his Ph.D. research project on Male reproductive organs. Dr. Deokar is also a member of the group which has its primary research focus on Reproductive Biology of the Birds and Reptiles and involved in other departmental projects.
