MICR 672 Introduction to Infectious Disease
This course builds on the fundamental basis provided by MICR 671 Basics of Immunology and Microbiology by utilizing an organ-system based approach to present the medically important microorganisms that are relevant to clinical practice in the US and worldwide. Since one syndrome (e.g. pneumonia) can have a range of bacterial, viral and fungal pathogens that are responsible, or one pathogen can cause a diversity of clinical presentations, pathogens are covered according to the primary system in which their main clinical manifestations occur.
