NURS 407 Nutrition Health & Wellness

This course is designed to provide students with the principles, understanding, and knowledge of Wellness and Health Promotion in the context of Nursing. The course expands on the students’ knowledge of the theoretical foundation of nutrition, health and wellness taught throughout the Nursing program. Emphasis will be placed on environmental, sociocultural, and economic factors that influence healthcare practices locally and Globally. Strategies of health promotion, this course introduces the learner to the principles of human nutrition and current trends. It will examine policy programs and interventions taken to address food-related illnesses. It also provides the learner with knowledge of health promotion and related strategies as an integral component of health care delivery, primary prevention for individuals, and for healthy populations will also be explored.
